KEMPEN BUMI HIJAU - PART 1 (MY CHILLI COLLECTION)


I was watching televisyen during my Raya holiday when I saw a government advertisement in RTM on Kempen Bumi Hijau. What is Kempen Bumi Hijau?

"Pelaksanaan Kempen Bumi Hijau (Amalan Bercucuk Tanam) telah dipersetujui oleh Jemaah Menteri dalam mesyuaratnya pada 19 Oktober 2005 dan dirasmikan di peringkat Kebangsaan oleh Y.A.B Perdana Menteri Malaysia pada 3 Mac 2006. Matlamat utama program ini ialah untuk menggalakkan rakyat bercucuk tanam bagi mengeluarkan sendiri bahan makanan harian seperti sayur-sayuran, ulam-ulaman dan buah-buahan.

Kempen ini akan dapat mewujudkan kesedaran dan minat rakyat terhadap pertanian terutama dikalangan penduduk-penduduk taman perumahan di bandar. Kempen ini juga diharap dapat mewujudkan kesedaran terhadap makanan segar, berkhasiat dan selamat dimakan disamping persekitaran perumahan yang cantik dan menarik.

Kempen Bumi Hijau terdiri daripada 3 komponen iaitu Tanaman, Ternakan dan Akuakultur. Kempen ini menggalakkan amalan bercucuk tanam tanaman makanan berkonsepkan laman dapur atau ‘edible landscape’, secara menanam tanaman bersesuaian dengan ruang sedia ada dan memenuhi keperluan keluarga. Ia menekankan konsep pengeluaran makanan untuk kegunaan sendiri sahaja. "


My Chilies Collection

I am not addict to chili, but to look them grow is a fantastic feeling. And I just realize that I'm one of the successor for Malaysian's Kempen Bumi Hijau...This benefit me to obtain both fresh vegetables through an edible landscape. These sort of activities also strengthening ties between me and neighbors through combined efforts, the exchange and sharing of fresh produce.



Chilli Padi. The famous chilli in Malaysia.



















The same species as above but bigger size.
























Purple chilli padi. Purple on premature and turn to red when mature.






















Long chilli. Green on premature and turn to red when mature.













Attractive shape...
Believed that this chili originally came from South America.
















Big chilli. It can be used on variety of dishes. Green on premature but change to red when mature.





















White on premature but change to orange or red when mature.



















This chilli is the same species as above but on bigger size



















Round chilli. Its the hottest among the above.





















This is not my collection. This is the biggest species that I ever found so far. I bought it from a supermarket, and I hope I able to plant it in my garden.....
